CHARACTER DESIGN
"UNPHEASANT"
These model sheets and concept art are from my in-progress short film, "UNPHEASANT". I experimented with the character designs over time in order to better reflect the characters' individual personalities and motivations through things such as color and shape language. Moro is a stoic, yet fiery pheasant, Lane is a chaotic, strong leader, Clement is a meek, shy fisherman, and Bento is a half-indignant, half-aloof cat.
"The Angel and The King"
I created these model sheets and concept art for a scrapped short film, "The Angel and The King". The characters were designed with appearances unlike what one would imagine from their titles to go along with their personalities; Cupid is an easygoing old man, the Angel is seething and in tatters, and the King is young and meek.
"A Fisherman's Wish"
I created these model sheets and concept art for "A Fisherman's Wish", a short film I co-created and animated with 3 other animators. As the character designer, I made sure that the designs would be simple enough to recreate with a consistent style and match the aesthetic of the film and its storyline. Though the film itself is largely black-and-white, these model sheets contain muted color palettes to reflect the mood.
